Cinematography - Analysis
1) Write an analysis of the cinematography in the opening sequence. Highlight your use of media language and try to cover camera shots, angles and movement using the terminology we have learned in lessons.
-First clip: pan through grass, shows the setting
-High shot + long shot of Lara Jean walking through the field to show setting
-Slow zoom into Lara Jean while walking
-Long shot of Josh turning around
-Medium shot when Josh speaks and comes closer to the camera
-Medium shot of Lara Jean getting a pillow thrown at her
-Swipe transition to switch setting into living room and again switch to Lara Jean in bed
-Close up of her grabbing her book
2) How does the camerawork give the audience clues about the setting, narrative and character?
The camera work gives subtle hints at what the next scene will be as the shots show the setting so therefore a scene may be filmed in that specific setting which can create enigma as the viewer may not expect something to happen.
Secondly, find and analyse one film or TV still image. Add the image to your blogpost.

3) Analyse the camera shot/angle in the image and what it communicates to the audience. Remember to highlight the media terminology you use.
-emphasises facial expressions and shows that barbie is annoyed at ken
-the background is barely visible however you can still see the name of where they're at to provide the audience with the setting
-the characters are not giving direct address which creates enigma as the audience may be questioning why they're not looking straight
