Sound Practical - Learner Response

1) Type up your feedback from your teacher.

I can't read it sorry😓😓…

2) Type up your feedback from fellow students - you can summarise key points if several students give you similar feedback.

WWW:
  • original content
  • good intro + end
  • amazing transitions
  • strong contrast
  • parallel is good
  • contrapuntal is clear
  • great editing
  • fade out of music at the end is amazing
  • easy to distinguish between parallel and contrapuntal
  • good pace of images
  • amazing intro at the start - using text to show the title
  • good choice of music
  • ate that

EBI
  • quality on some photos
  • repetitive shots in contrapuntal

3) Now reflect on your work and write your own evaluation of your video. Write a 'What went well' (WWW) paragraph and a paragraph for 'Even Better If' (EBI) underneath the rest of your feedback.

WWW:
In my opinion I think the contrast between
contrapuntal and parallel was very clear and powerful as it shows the positive and negative side of flying airplanes which creates a deeper meaning. I also like the transitions I used which was the video star motion blur effect and I think it looks quite good. Another thing I like is the pace of the photos because it's not too slow and not too fast. I also like the beginning where I did the title going along with the beat of the song "parallel vs contrapuntal sound."

EBI:
I think the shots in the contrapuntal part of the video were quite repetitive so I agree with the feedback I got however in my defence there wasn't many good quality photos with other angles I could find. I also think my quality could've been better but I had to save the video multiple times

4) Learner response: compare your own video against your evaluation of the top three videos in the class. Whose did you think was best and why? How could you have improved your own video?

Not to be biased but I think my video was the best... (sorry😥)
I think I have met the brief accurately (minus the fact that I was 3 seconds off the 1 minute mark). I have met the brief by accurately showing the distinguishing factors between parallel and contrapuntal sound as the song accurately represents the parallel side of the photos and then after doesn't match the contrapuntal part, like it's meant to.

5) Finally, what have you learned about the importance of sound to film and TV through this week's work?

I have learnt that the use of sound is crucial as it effects what people may think of your video. This is because if the sound you use doesn't fit what you're showing it can create the wrong ideas in peoples minds.
